
Fred Stolle: Aussie tennis mourns Grand Slam-winning legend who became a top commentator for Channel Nine
The tennis world is in mourning over the death of Grand Slam winner turned TV star Fred Stolle, who was known as the voice of the sport when he traded his racquet for a commentator's microphone. The French and US Open winner passed away aged 86 and has been hailed as a true great of the game for his work on and off the court. Born in Sydney, Stolle was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1985 and made the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 1988.
